Since 1988, Universal Laser Systems, Inc. has been a high volume manufacturer of laser products. In 1998 Universal introduced the first complete line of air-cooled, RF-excited, CO₂ lasers. To date, thousands of these lasers have been installed worldwide. ULS lasers have been installed on flatbed, roll-feed, multi-axis, robotic-arm, and other custom systems for numerous applications such as: engraving, cutting, "on-the-fly" marking and 3-D prototyping.

Universal Laser Systems has devoted many years of research and development to laser technology. These efforts have resulted in numerous innovations and multiple U.S. patents. An example of one of these innovations is the Free-Space Slab Technology™ that produces a laser beam that can be used in both the near and far fields without additional optical enhancements. All of our lasers offer built in air-cooling, internal tickle and optional visible pointing laser. In addition, lasers provide the benefits of compact size, long operating life and enhanced stability.
