We recommend that the X Axis Belt, X Axis Bearings, and the X Axis Idler be replaced once every year to year and a half. The Y Axis Belts, Bearings, Idler, as well as the X Axis Drive Gear should be replaced every three to five years depending on machine use.
Lasers typically last anywhere from three to five years depending on use and operating conditions, common symptoms of a laser needing to be replaced are: Power settings/speed are having to be increased/slowed down to adjust for low power or no beam at all.

If you have one of our newest systems: VL, VLS, PLS, or the ILS. Please refer to the Material Database and use that at a starting point. For more detailed instructions on using the Materials Database/or if you system does not us the Materials Database please review the manual that was provided with your system.
CO2 Laser systems will mark most materials that you can burn with a lighter in addition to some high carbon based metals such as Steel with our High Power Density Focusing Optics.
Our Multi-Wavelength laser system is designed to be used on metals and carbon based plastics.
If Universal Laser Systems, Inc. was the company that sold you the laser then yes we can repair/recharge the laser cartridge. You can contact Service via email at support@ulsinc.com or by calling 480-609-0297. If Universal did not sell the laser cartridge then you would need to contact the manufacture that sold you the system.
We try and ship in stock items ordered before 12:00pm Arizona time the same day.
If you are ready to order and have completed testing with your local service representative or a Universal Laser Systems service technician and they have determined that your would benefit from replacing your laser please fill out the Laser Exchange Form.
Once you have it filled out please either email it back to support@ulsinc.com or fax it into the number provided on the form. Once we receive the exchange form we will place the order and you will be contacted for payment. Once the payment has been processed you will be added to the queue. When a tube is ready for your order we will ship it out based off you selection on the laser exchange form. Upon receiving the tube please remove the old tube and place the new tube in the machine for testing. With the testing complete put the old tube in the box we sent the new tube in and include the RMA form that would have come with the new tube (this will allow us to easily identify the return of the tube towards your account). You are responsible for shipping the old laser back to us. You can send it anyway you chose (the most common method is UPS ground).
