Universal Laser Systems Receives Patent on Interchangeable Laser Sources

Universal Laser Systems recently received its twelfth laser technology patent. The patent covers Interchangeable Laser Sources and Platforms and the rapid reconfiguration process made possible due to pre-aligned lasers and pre-aligned platforms.

The advantage to the customer is the ability to rapidly reconfigure laser platforms by allowing the quick replacement of a laser cartridge in a platform. This is especially important in the upgrade process allowing an equipment owner to upgrade from as little as 25 watts to as much as 120 watts in less than one minute saving the expense of hiring a service technician or shipping equipment back to the factory for upgrades. This is also useful for multiple platform owners who occasionally work with high power jobs because a laser cartridge can be quickly removed from one platform and added to a platform already containing a laser cartridge to increase the laser power in that platform. Once the high power job is completed, this second laser cartridge can be easily removed and returned to the original platform.
