Lateral Gas Assist Attachment

The Lateral Gas Assist attachment is an adjustable attachment that can direct air along the material’s surface at a variety of incident angles. This is particularly helpful in raster engraving applications where debris can be removed from the engraving for ideal processing.

Fire Suppression

Certain materials being laser processed have the potential to ignite and continue to burn, which can cause damage. As a backup to required supervision, ULS has developed a fire suppression option that can help mitigate the potential for damage. The fire suppression module deploys fire suppressant into the laser material processing area if self-sustained combustion is detected.

UAC 4000 Air Filtration System
Traveling Exhaust

This patented option locates an exhaust duct directly on the laser beam delivery system so it remains constantly in proximity to the particulate and fumes produced during laser material processing, capturing them as they are generated.

Class 4 Conversion Module (Enabling Pass-Through)

The patented Class 4 Conversion Module is an option that allows the user to quickly and easily convert a laser system between a fully enclosed Class 1 operation and an open Class 4 operation. This allows the user to place oversized objects in the laser system or pass continuous objects such as rolls of material or conveyor systems through the laser system.

Configurable Cutting Table (Pin Table)

The Configurable Cutting Table consists of an anodized aluminum plate with an array of precision holes with regular spacing. Specially designed material-support pins are placed into these holes in an arrangement to fully support the target-material while avoiding the cutting path of the laser completely. The result is zero back-reflection onto the lower surface of the target-material while maintaining full material support.

Configurable Cutting Table (Pin Table)
Flow-Through Cutting Table

The Flow-through Cutting Table consists of a thin-wall aluminum honeycomb-core evenly supported by an underlying hollow structure. The target material is placed on the honeycomb core. When excess laser power passes the lower surface of the target material during a laser cutting process, this excess power is passed into the supporting structure where it is absorbed in an unfocused state.

This is the most versatile lens. It provides an ideal balance of spot size, depth of focus and focal length for most laser cutting, engraving and marking applications.

1-Touch Laser Photo™

1-Touch Laser Photo™ is an innovative product for converting digital photographs into bitmap files that can be used to engrave the image into materials. This transforms an ordinary photograph into a professional quality engraving. Prior to 1-Touch this was possible only by experimenting with halftone screens, dithering patterns, and laser settings – an expensive and time consuming methodology.

Direct File Import

In addition to standard print drivers, ULS offers a Direct File Import option that enables users to import certain graphic file formats (PDF/DXF/STL*/G-Code*) directly into the laser system control software bypassing the printing process

Coaxial Gas Assist Attachment

The Coaxial Gas Assist option attaches to the carriage for use in gas assisted laser processing. It directs compressed gas coaxially with the laser beam path and orthogonal to the surface of the material.

Collimator

The Collimator expands and collimates the laser beam, minimizing divergence across the laser processing area producing more consistent focal spot size and energy density.

Compressed Air Source

The Compressed Air Source is a quiet, compact compressed air system that provides clean, oil- and moisture-free optical quality air to the laser system for air assited laser processing and optics protection.

Computer Controlled Gas Assist (with Optics Protection)

Gas Assist with Optics Protection creates positive air pressure around all optics and directs compressed air or gas onto the surface of the material being processed. The compressed air or gas directed at the material keeps debris and particulate and fumes away from the optics, suppresses combustion of fumes, reduces accumulation of particulate on material surface, and increases cut quality on most materials. Computer control allows the user to adjust the precentage of air or gas flow through a system of autmatic valves allowing differing settings for each process within a laser processing application

Direct File Import

This feature allows a user to import certain types of files directly into the laser system control software, without the need to print from any third party software. On the XLS, it is compatible with PDF, DXF, STL and G-code file formats.

High Precision Dual Loop Servo Motor Control

The system is driven by high power dual loop servo motors using rotary and linear encoders together to provide fast acceleration and highly controlled motion.

High Value Materials Database

This feature provides access to an extended materials database which including materials from 3M, Dupont, Rodger and others.

HydroStatic Friction Free Bearing Technology

This motion system employs frictionless hydrostatic bearings. These bearings are non-contact and self cleaning. They are extremely rigid and reduce hysteresis and vibration found in mechanical bearings.

Intelligent Laser Energy Management Engine

This feature maintains consistent energy density at any processing speed producing uniform marks and constant depth when cutting, marking and engraving.

Laminated Safety Glass

Glass viewing windows create a safe enclosure for laser processing.

Multiple Automatic Focusing Methods

All ULS laser systems can be focused automatically based on material thickness or by using a convenient manual focusing tool. Some ULS laser systems can also be automatically focused using special sensors to detect the top surface of the material being laser processed.

Multiple Language Support

Supported languages include English, German, Japanese, Spanish French, Italian, and more.

Over-Temp Alarm (for fire safety)

An over temperature alarm installed in every Universal laser system monitors the temperature of the work area. If an unusually high temperature is detected, the system will turn off the laser and trigger an audible alarm.

TouchScreen Control Panel

Color touch screen control panel for rapid setup and convenient process control including relocation of design files on processing field.

Air-Cooled Laser Source

Because our laser sources are air-cooled, no complicated liquid cooling systems are required.

High Reliability, Excellent Power Stability

Our laser sources provide consistent power for predictably excellent processing results.

Laser Fan Control (to reduce noise)

All ULS lasers are air cooled by computer-controlled fans. Fan speed is reduced or increased as a function of laser temperature, reducing noise levels when the lasers are being used on lower power settings.

Laser Pointer

A red laser pointer is installed for easy material alignment.

Patented Cross-Platform Compatibility

Laser sources can be freely interchanged between laser platforms.

Patented Free-Space Gas Slab Laser Design

Our patented laser sources use free-space gas slab resonators to produce an excellent quality beam with even power distribution and good near and far field characteristics.

Patented Pre-Aligned Laser Sources

Laser sources are pre-aligned at the factory and do not need to be internally realigned.

Smart Laser Source Technology

Because we manufacture our own lasers, ULS lasers can communicate their model number to the laser system CPU, allowing the laser system to automatically choose the right settings for a particular material based on available laser power.

Warranty Available Up To 5 Years

Our standard warranty can be extended for up to half a decade of coverage.
