Silicone Rubber

Silicone Rubber Overview

The term silicone rubber describes a broad group of siloxane based synthetic rubber materials, the most common of which is polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). Silicone rubber comes in multiple formulations and may include additives or fillers. It is used in a wide range of applications due to its flexibility, ease of manufacturing, high thermal stability and chemical resistance. Laser cutting of silicone rubber can produce a smooth, clean edge on material up to 0.25 inches thick (6 millimeters). Laser engraving of silicone rubber can produce deep engraving while maintaining high detail.
